Narrative:
During takeoff and climb, primary longitudinal trim failed. Switched to alternate trim system. Went through 4000' assigned altitude during rapid climb. Declared emergency and returned to iah. During approach, slat disagree light was on during all flap settings for approach until after T/D. There was no abnormal roll or pitch tendencies from leading edge devices, just trim response.

Title: MLG CREW DECLARES AN EMERGENCY, RETURN LAND AND OVERSHOOTS ASSIGNED ALT AFTER MAIN ELECTRIC TRIM FAILED SHORTLY AFTER TKOF.
Narrative: DURING TKOF AND CLB, PRIMARY LONGITUDINAL TRIM FAILED. SWITCHED TO ALTERNATE TRIM SYS. WENT THROUGH 4000' ASSIGNED ALT DURING RAPID CLB. DECLARED EMER AND RETURNED TO IAH. DURING APCH, SLAT DISAGREE LIGHT WAS ON DURING ALL FLAP SETTINGS FOR APCH UNTIL AFTER T/D. THERE WAS NO ABNORMAL ROLL OR PITCH TENDENCIES FROM LEADING EDGE DEVICES, JUST TRIM RESPONSE.
