Narrative:
I had just completed run-up and asked the tower for takeoff clearance and instructions. After being cleared for runway 06 I started towards the holding lines, however after a visibility inspection I stopped and asked if the tower would like me to hold short for incoming traffic. The tower replied, 'no, small aircraft X you are instructed to takeoff, inbound traffic is not a factor. Pull ahead and turn left for departure.' I pulled up and turned left, lined up between the runway lights and departed. Shortly after airborne, the tower instructed me to turn hard left. I wasn't sure what was going on until the tower asked me if I realized that I departed from the wrong runway. After reviewing this situation with an instrument, I came to some suggestions: I feel that there should be lighted taxi runway markers to clearly distinguish runway 10 and 06. Also the runway lights on 06 are not as bright as runway 10. I also feel that the tower could have advised me that I had passed runway 06 for there is a considerable distance.

Title: INEXPERIENCED SMA PLT DEPARTS WRONG RWY AT GNV AND EXPERIENCES NMAC, CTLR INTERVENES.
Narrative: I HAD JUST COMPLETED RUN-UP AND ASKED THE TWR FOR TKOF CLRNC AND INSTRUCTIONS. AFTER BEING CLRED FOR RWY 06 I STARTED TOWARDS THE HOLDING LINES, HOWEVER AFTER A VIS INSPECTION I STOPPED AND ASKED IF THE TWR WOULD LIKE ME TO HOLD SHORT FOR INCOMING TFC. THE TWR REPLIED, 'NO, SMA X YOU ARE INSTRUCTED TO TKOF, INBND TFC IS NOT A FACTOR. PULL AHEAD AND TURN L FOR DEP.' I PULLED UP AND TURNED L, LINED UP BTWN THE RWY LIGHTS AND DEPARTED. SHORTLY AFTER AIRBORNE, THE TWR INSTRUCTED ME TO TURN HARD L. I WASN'T SURE WHAT WAS GOING ON UNTIL THE TWR ASKED ME IF I REALIZED THAT I DEPARTED FROM THE WRONG RWY. AFTER REVIEWING THIS SITUATION WITH AN INSTR, I CAME TO SOME SUGGESTIONS: I FEEL THAT THERE SHOULD BE LIGHTED TAXI RWY MARKERS TO CLRLY DISTINGUISH RWY 10 AND 06. ALSO THE RWY LIGHTS ON 06 ARE NOT AS BRIGHT AS RWY 10. I ALSO FEEL THAT THE TWR COULD HAVE ADVISED ME THAT I HAD PASSED RWY 06 FOR THERE IS A CONSIDERABLE DISTANCE.
