Narrative:
There was a misunderstanding between me and falcon tower. I was 6 mi northeast of the airport. Tower instructed me to report a 2 mi downwind. I misunderstood the clearance and thought they wanted a wide downwind. I reported on a 45 degree entry and was instructed to call the tower. I should have questioned more clearly as to how exactly I should have entered the pattern.
