Narrative:
During cruise at FL350, center windscreen ice protection overheated, causing windshield to shatter. Called center with request for emergency descent, received no reply. Squawked emergency and began descent. Soon into descent, established contact with center, asked them of situation and requested FL250. After level at FL250, stabilized situation and continued to destination.

Title: CENTER WINDSHIELD SHATTERS. MADE EMERGENCY DESCENT.
Narrative: DURING CRUISE AT FL350, CTR WINDSCREEN ICE PROTECTION OVERHEATED, CAUSING WINDSHIELD TO SHATTER. CALLED CTR WITH REQUEST FOR EMER DSNT, RECEIVED NO REPLY. SQUAWKED EMER AND BEGAN DSNT. SOON INTO DSNT, ESTABLISHED CONTACT WITH CTR, ASKED THEM OF SITUATION AND REQUESTED FL250. AFTER LEVEL AT FL250, STABILIZED SITUATION AND CONTINUED TO DEST.
