Narrative:
We were cleared for takeoff. As I advanced the power levers I saw normal torque rise on both engines and then focused my attention outside the aircraft. The aircraft acceleration felt normal and I was waiting for the captain to call positive torque rise, beta lights out. Instead the captain called abort. As the captain called abort the aircraft yawed/veered hard to the right (these two events happened instantaneously). Because the aircraft was sliding on glazed snow pack it was impossible to recover. Just before the aircraft hit the snow bank on the right side of the runway, the captain and I each pulled our respective stop and feather buttons. I pulled the yoke completely back just as we hit the snow.
