Narrative:

Could not physically recover from the previous day's grueling ZZZ tarmac delay and fuel stop in ZZZ1.for just shy of the 3 hour tarmac delay; we taxied out after fueling operations were suspended due to lightning in the airport area. Thankfully; I had put on almost 3000 lbs of extra fuel (to the dispatcher's chagrin) because I had a feeling that we would possibly be rerouted. Once fueling was completed for us; so was every other flight's refueling and the taxi saga began with some movement; repositioning; engine shutdowns; moving again; departure corridors opening and closing; takeoff imminent; then followed by 2 reroutes. By that time we no longer had the fuel for [flight] ZZZ-ZZZ3. This meant getting out of the taxi line (but we were boxed in and unable to move for some time). So we coordinated a fuel stop in ZZZ1 with dispatch on a route that was to have taken us out the northeast and then looping up over the great lakes to get to ZZZ1. The entire time through [various] centers we begged for direct ZZZ2 for the arrival to ZZZ1 and every time we were denied. Almost as soon as we checked in with toronto center we were granted our request and back into us airspace.the next 3 hours were spent coordinating with dispatch to make sure we had everything and all hands on deck in ZZZ1. My main concern was allowing the people to get off and stretch in ZZZ1 due to our lengthy taxi in ZZZ (which didn't happen because the ZZZ1 station manager objected and they could not be let out of the jetway as they didn't have a way to off and on the passengers). Once we were allowed direct ZZZ2; we were within 500 lbs of being redispatched to ZZZ3. After landing in ZZZ1; we were advised by scheduling that we had minutes before timing out on flight time. We literally took off with a minute and 15 seconds to spare and toronto center became the hero of the day as without the direct ZZZ2 we would have been stuck in ZZZ1 for the night. The rest of the ZZZ1-ZZZ3 flight was uneventful but it had taken its toll. We got to the [hotel] in ZZZ3 and it took us another 40 minutes to check in and get our rooms as [scheduling] had filed it under a personal; not airline contractual booking. The problem was the hotel was no longer our contracted hotel and they had no sign-in sheet from [scheduling] for us. They expected us to vacate our rooms by xa:00 (instead of xe:30) and leave them a credit card for incidentals. We waited while scheduling 'fixed' the booking but they never really did and I simply told the front desk we would not be checking out until our scheduled time regardless of the booking and [scheduling] would have to fix it later. I awoke the next day with a headache and nausea after a restless night of sleep due to nighttime heavy equipment construction project across the street from my room. I eventually put in earplugs as I was too tired to move rooms. The next day I was not fit or safe to DH (deadhead) to las and fly the [next flight] of the trip.
