Narrative:
On review of logbook [logbook deferral sheet] item zzzzzzzz on aircraft X noticed item for lost cell phone; sign off unable to locate phone. Being this is a lithium ion battery I went and looked for the phone and did indeed find the phone. Made new entry and signed off accordingly. The company needs to implement a policy to not allow an airplane to leave if a phone or any device with a battery that can cause explosion of self-combustion.
