Narrative:
All [company] policies and procedures were followed correctly. Before boarding began; after the cabin lights were on the bright setting well over an hour; I turned [the] cabin lights off to evaluate the photo strips. They were not sufficiently bright enough to aid in the event of an evacuation especially if smoke or fire were involved. This is an ongoing problem with many; though not all; of our airplanes and has not been adequately addressed.
