Narrative:
IFR flight from tulsa, ok, to eagle, co. I was flying less than 10 NM from airport ege, on approach phase; denver center said, either I could cancel IFR with them on 128.50 (the frequency I was on) or contact them on the ground on 124.75 to cancel IFR. I decided to contact them on the ground. When on the ground I tried 124.75 on two different radios and there was no contact. After parking the plane, I didn't have a telephone nearby to use to call FSS. I forgot to call later and denver center had put an alert notice out. They called our home base which knew we had landed safely and passed the information to denver center. The al not was then cancelled. Denver center quality control manager was the person that I talked to a few days later and said no action was being taken and then thanked me for caring enough to call.

Title: ATX ON IFR FAILED TO CANCEL IFR AFTER LNDG. FAA ATC ISSUED ALERT NOTICE ON NON CANCELLED FLT PLAN.
Narrative: IFR FLT FROM TULSA, OK, TO EAGLE, CO. I WAS FLYING LESS THAN 10 NM FROM ARPT EGE, ON APCH PHASE; DENVER CTR SAID, EITHER I COULD CANCEL IFR WITH THEM ON 128.50 (THE FREQ I WAS ON) OR CONTACT THEM ON THE GND ON 124.75 TO CANCEL IFR. I DECIDED TO CONTACT THEM ON THE GND. WHEN ON THE GND I TRIED 124.75 ON TWO DIFFERENT RADIOS AND THERE WAS NO CONTACT. AFTER PARKING THE PLANE, I DIDN'T HAVE A TELEPHONE NEARBY TO USE TO CALL FSS. I FORGOT TO CALL LATER AND DENVER CTR HAD PUT AN ALERT NOTICE OUT. THEY CALLED OUR HOME BASE WHICH KNEW WE HAD LANDED SAFELY AND PASSED THE INFO TO DENVER CTR. THE AL NOT WAS THEN CANCELLED. DENVER CTR QUALITY CTL MGR WAS THE PERSON THAT I TALKED TO A FEW DAYS LATER AND SAID NO ACTION WAS BEING TAKEN AND THEN THANKED ME FOR CARING ENOUGH TO CALL.
