Narrative:

I was on my way to my third solo flight. I spent about 5-7 frustrating mins to get ground clearance to taxi. (It could have been radio problem). Finally the controller responded. The active runway was changed from 1L (a familiar runway) to runway 19R (a runway I had not taxied to before). Not being too familiar with the layout of the airport, I started to taxi the wrong direction. Being completely nervous and disoriented I flipped a map of the airport open which didn't seem to help. I xed an active runway west/O the knowledge of it being active. However, I had looked before crossing the runway and no traffic was in sight. (The traffic must have been at least 7 mi out). About 2 seconds later the controller started yelling at me, that of course magnified my nervousness, and at that time I was completely lost. The controller helped me taxi back to the hangar and the flight was terminated. I believe my major problem was the fact of me not being familiar enough with the airport, and my suggestion to all pilots is to never move the aircraft unless 100 percent sure of where and what you will be doing.

Title: SPI ON THIRD SOLO FLT RECEIVES CLRNC TO RWY NOT PREVIOUSLY USED. BECOMES DISORIENTED AND CROSSES ACTIVE RWY.

Narrative: I WAS ON MY WAY TO MY THIRD SOLO FLT. I SPENT ABOUT 5-7 FRUSTRATING MINS TO GET GND CLRNC TO TAXI. (IT COULD HAVE BEEN RADIO PROB). FINALLY THE CTLR RESPONDED. THE ACTIVE RWY WAS CHANGED FROM 1L (A FAMILIAR RWY) TO RWY 19R (A RWY I HAD NOT TAXIED TO BEFORE). NOT BEING TOO FAMILIAR WITH THE LAYOUT OF THE ARPT, I STARTED TO TAXI THE WRONG DIRECTION. BEING COMPLETELY NERVOUS AND DISORIENTED I FLIPPED A MAP OF THE ARPT OPEN WHICH DIDN'T SEEM TO HELP. I XED AN ACTIVE RWY W/O THE KNOWLEDGE OF IT BEING ACTIVE. HOWEVER, I HAD LOOKED BEFORE XING THE RWY AND NO TFC WAS IN SIGHT. (THE TFC MUST HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 7 MI OUT). ABOUT 2 SECS LATER THE CTLR STARTED YELLING AT ME, THAT OF COURSE MAGNIFIED MY NERVOUSNESS, AND AT THAT TIME I WAS COMPLETELY LOST. THE CTLR HELPED ME TAXI BACK TO THE HANGAR AND THE FLT WAS TERMINATED. I BELIEVE MY MAJOR PROB WAS THE FACT OF ME NOT BEING FAMILIAR ENOUGH WITH THE ARPT, AND MY SUGGESTION TO ALL PLTS IS TO NEVER MOVE THE ACFT UNLESS 100 PERCENT SURE OF WHERE AND WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING.
