Referring [to] log page; found damage to inboard thrust reverser heat shield and subsequently found bore scope plug on engine not installed. Log page indicates bore scope plug locking feature was not working correctly. Referring [to] work card; performed the required inspections for the re-installation of bore scope plug as required.
