Narrative:
Climbing through 600 feet on the ewr 4 SID off runway 4L; the jump seater alerted us to an aircraft in close proximity to our right. We remained on runway heading and leveled off at 2000'. No go-around call was heard by any crew member on our flight. The tower controller instructed the go-around aircraft to turn right immediately.
