Narrative:
700-800' above the ground in IMC on an ILS approach I encountered total electrical failure. The plane was set on autoplt on the G/south function. The autoplt shut off and the nose pitched up. I manually tried to trim the lane properly. It felt as if the autoplt locked into place. I emerged out of the clouds at 600' AGL on top of the runway. I decided to try to land on the 5000' runway (9R). I touched down on the later 1/3 and continued past the runway onto the grass by approximately 50'. No damage to the plane or airport reported. The electrical problem is still being investigated. I feel there was a combination of factors that caused me to overshoot the runway. Did not continue descent to MDA of 200' when electrical failure occurred. Improperly trimmed plane, autoplt malfunction. 10-12 KT direct tailwind that caused me to float further down runway. Apparent malfunction of autoplt extremely difficult to control plane. Felt as if autoplt was locked on? Runway was wet, and I was apprehensive on braking too 'hard'.

Title: IMC CONDITIONS. ELECTRICAL FAILURE RESULTS IN LONG LNDG AND RWY EXCURSION.
Narrative: 700-800' ABOVE THE GND IN IMC ON AN ILS APCH I ENCOUNTERED TOTAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE PLANE WAS SET ON AUTOPLT ON THE G/S FUNCTION. THE AUTOPLT SHUT OFF AND THE NOSE PITCHED UP. I MANUALLY TRIED TO TRIM THE LANE PROPERLY. IT FELT AS IF THE AUTOPLT LOCKED INTO PLACE. I EMERGED OUT OF THE CLOUDS AT 600' AGL ON TOP OF THE RWY. I DECIDED TO TRY TO LAND ON THE 5000' RWY (9R). I TOUCHED DOWN ON THE LATER 1/3 AND CONTINUED PAST THE RWY ONTO THE GRASS BY APPROX 50'. NO DAMAGE TO THE PLANE OR ARPT RPTED. THE ELECTRICAL PROB IS STILL BEING INVESTIGATED. I FEEL THERE WAS A COMBINATION OF FACTORS THAT CAUSED ME TO OVERSHOOT THE RWY. DID NOT CONTINUE DSNT TO MDA OF 200' WHEN ELECTRICAL FAILURE OCCURRED. IMPROPERLY TRIMMED PLANE, AUTOPLT MALFUNCTION. 10-12 KT DIRECT TAILWIND THAT CAUSED ME TO FLOAT FURTHER DOWN RWY. APPARENT MALFUNCTION OF AUTOPLT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CTL PLANE. FELT AS IF AUTOPLT WAS LOCKED ON? RWY WAS WET, AND I WAS APPREHENSIVE ON BRAKING TOO 'HARD'.
