Narrative:

On 3/91, approximately X pm, an medium large transport was inbound from the north landing at rsw in ft myers, fl. This aircraft was being worked by ft myers approach and being vectored for a visibility approach. Approximately 10 nne of rsw, the flight crew reported the airport in sight. Ft myers approach then cleared this aircraft for a visibility approach and switched him to rsw tower local frequency. I was the local controller at the time. The aircraft checked in on a heading for a right base entry to runway 24 and was then cleared to land. I scanned the BRITE scope approximately 20 seconds later and observed this aircraft turning a 4 mi final for page field (fmy) which is located 8 mi northwest of rsw. I gave the aircraft a heading and then pointed out regional airport. He flew 3 mi, the reported the airport in sight. I cleared the aircraft to land which he did west/O incident. Title: ATCT LCL CTLR OBSERVED THE MLG ON FINAL TO THE WRONG ARPT. HE ISSUED ADDITIONAL DIRECTIONS TO THE FLC FOR APCH TO THE DESTINATION ARPT.

Narrative: ON 3/91, APPROX X PM, AN MLG WAS INBND FROM THE N LNDG AT RSW IN FT MYERS, FL. THIS ACFT WAS BEING WORKED BY FT MYERS APCH AND BEING VECTORED FOR A VIS APCH. APPROX 10 NNE OF RSW, THE FLT CREW RPTED THE ARPT IN SIGHT. FT MYERS APCH THEN CLRED THIS ACFT FOR A VIS APCH AND SWITCHED HIM TO RSW TWR LCL FREQ. I WAS THE LCL CTLR AT THE TIME. THE ACFT CHKED IN ON A HDG FOR A R BASE ENTRY TO RWY 24 AND WAS THEN CLRED TO LAND. I SCANNED THE BRITE SCOPE APPROX 20 SECS LATER AND OBSERVED THIS ACFT TURNING A 4 MI FINAL FOR PAGE FIELD (FMY) WHICH IS LOCATED 8 MI NW OF RSW. I GAVE THE ACFT A HDG AND THEN POINTED OUT REGIONAL ARPT. HE FLEW 3 MI, THE RPTED THE ARPT IN SIGHT. I CLRED THE ACFT TO LAND WHICH HE DID W/O INCIDENT. THE WX AT THE TIME WAS.
