Narrative:
Flight was an far 135 operation from DW8 to 3r8 in an light transport. Prior to departure an fdc NOTAM check using duat showed no NOTAMS for 3r8, which has a 5000' and 4000' runway. Flight to 3r8 was routine, with airport in sight and a visibility approach clearance accepted. Unicom was contacted. Unicom informed us that long runway was closed, and had been for 60 days! The wind was 20 KTS down the 4000' runway. Charted data on checklist. Showed 4300' required (135) at our weight. A quick look at flight manual graphs showed 20 KT wind reduced distance to 4000'. Landing by first officer (also a rated captain) was west/O problems. After parking and deplaning passenger the flight manual was again consulted. Running the 'kun around' charts in the comfort of the FBO showed that far 135 landing distance was probably closer to 4100'. You've got to watch these charts!
