Narrative:

Flight returned to departure station with engine parameters fluctuating (information passed to me from our planning department information from our maintenance department). Called station to have captain call me to get information. No call from captain. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter, a dispatcher, is upset because the aircraft returned to the airport west/O contacting dispatch. Reporter said that the aircraft should have obtained an amended release prior to his return. Reporter also said that dispatch 'was taken out of the loop' during this incident. He said that it was suggested that he file this report so that it would be entered in our records.

Title: DISPATCHER COMPLAINS THAT FLT CREW DID NOT CONTACT HIM PRIOR TO RETURNING TO DEP ARPT.

Narrative: FLT RETURNED TO DEP STATION WITH ENG PARAMETERS FLUCTUATING (INFO PASSED TO ME FROM OUR PLANNING DEPT INFO FROM OUR MAINT DEPT). CALLED STATION TO HAVE CAPT CALL ME TO GET INFO. NO CALL FROM CAPT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR, A DISPATCHER, IS UPSET BECAUSE THE ACFT RETURNED TO THE ARPT W/O CONTACTING DISPATCH. RPTR SAID THAT THE ACFT SHOULD HAVE OBTAINED AN AMENDED RELEASE PRIOR TO HIS RETURN. RPTR ALSO SAID THAT DISPATCH 'WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE LOOP' DURING THIS INCIDENT. HE SAID THAT IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT HE FILE THIS RPT SO THAT IT WOULD BE ENTERED IN OUR RECORDS.
