Narrative:

Both engines were advanced approximately 1' of quadrant travel in anticipation of takeoff clearance after landing traffic on crossing runway. When takeoff clearance was received, both throttles were slowly advanced toward takeoff power as brakes were released and automatic throttle was engaged. Aircraft immediately started to swerve severely to the right. Abort was made in accordance with company policies and procedures. Full nose wheel steering to left and full braking was applied. Aircraft departed runway (nose wheel only) approximately 200-300' after start of takeoff roll. Nose wheel came to rest with full left steering deflection. All happened so quickly as to make it impossible for me to ascertain symmetry of engine power. Tower, company and passenger all advised of circumstances. APU was started, engines shut down and aircraft was tuned back to terminal. The only visible evidence of incident was some mud on nose wheel tires. Maintenance write-up was made to describe sequence of events.

Title: ACR MLG RWY EXCURSION WHEN FLT CREW LOST ACFT CTL AT START OF TKOF ROLL.

Narrative: BOTH ENGS WERE ADVANCED APPROX 1' OF QUADRANT TRAVEL IN ANTICIPATION OF TKOF CLRNC AFTER LNDG TFC ON XING RWY. WHEN TKOF CLRNC WAS RECEIVED, BOTH THROTTLES WERE SLOWLY ADVANCED TOWARD TKOF PWR AS BRAKES WERE RELEASED AND AUTO THROTTLE WAS ENGAGED. ACFT IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO SWERVE SEVERELY TO THE RIGHT. ABORT WAS MADE IAW COMPANY POLICIES AND PROCS. FULL NOSE WHEEL STEERING TO LEFT AND FULL BRAKING WAS APPLIED. ACFT DEPARTED RWY (NOSE WHEEL ONLY) APPROX 200-300' AFTER START OF TKOF ROLL. NOSE WHEEL CAME TO REST WITH FULL LEFT STEERING DEFLECTION. ALL HAPPENED SO QUICKLY AS TO MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO ASCERTAIN SYMMETRY OF ENG PWR. TWR, COMPANY AND PAX ALL ADVISED OF CIRCUMSTANCES. APU WAS STARTED, ENGS SHUT DOWN AND ACFT WAS TUNED BACK TO TERMINAL. THE ONLY VISIBLE EVIDENCE OF INCIDENT WAS SOME MUD ON NOSE WHEEL TIRES. MAINT WRITE-UP WAS MADE TO DESCRIBE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS.
