Narrative:
Aircraft came to the hangar with a right gear position indication problem. Aircraft was jacked and secured by other individuals. I troubleshot the system and found a landing gear accessory unit at fault. I replaced the unit and swung the gear several times with someone observing the gear clearance. This is the extent to which I was involved. I signed the log book off as, replaced landing gear accessory until per tech. Swung gear several times and position indication and warning normal. Could not duplicate. Aircraft was later taken off the jacks by other individuals. The following morning while on the gate, the F/east was doing his preflight walk-around and noticed a plumb bob hanging down in the right gear well. The flight crew eventually entered it in the log book. Another mechanic removed it and signed the log book off. I just want it to be known that I had absolutely nothing to do with the jacking or lowering of said aircraft. My duties were only to remove and replace a landing gear accessory unit and do a gear swing. The item was signed off by myself only in the log book, and may appear as if I accomplished the whole maintenance procedure myself. In reality my involvement was limited.
