Narrative:
Approach roslyn. Approach to runway 18 dca. Approach kept us high too long. In descent, carried too much speed, so at 3.5 DME needed too much bank during breaking maneuver for safe maneuver. Banked to best of our ability to follow river and avoid maneuvering over buildings. Ended up overflying part of buildings. No unsafe maneuver used to execute safe procedure.

Narrative: APCH ROSLYN. APCH TO RWY 18 DCA. APCH KEPT US HIGH TOO LONG. IN DSNT, CARRIED TOO MUCH SPD, SO AT 3.5 DME NEEDED TOO MUCH BANK DURING BREAKING MANEUVER FOR SAFE MANEUVER. BANKED TO BEST OF OUR ABILITY TO FOLLOW RIVER AND AVOID MANEUVERING OVER BUILDINGS. ENDED UP OVERFLYING PART OF BUILDINGS. NO UNSAFE MANEUVER USED TO EXECUTE SAFE PROC.
