Narrative:
Working departure east sector I accepted a handoff from our south sector who informed me that a 'point out' was approved on mlt X. Mlt X was still in patrick approach control airspace, I climbed mlt X on the basis of the point out, but the south controller was referring to a point out on his airspace not patrick approachs airspace. No other aircraft were involved.

Narrative: WORKING DEP E SECTOR I ACCEPTED A HDOF FROM OUR S SECTOR WHO INFORMED ME THAT A 'POINT OUT' WAS APPROVED ON MLT X. MLT X WAS STILL IN PATRICK APCH CTL AIRSPACE, I CLBED MLT X ON THE BASIS OF THE POINT OUT, BUT THE S CTLR WAS REFERRING TO A POINT OUT ON HIS AIRSPACE NOT PATRICK APCHS AIRSPACE. NO OTHER ACFT WERE INVOLVED.
