Narrative:
Air carrier X was cleared for takeoff runway 36R at dfw to turn left heading 345 degree at M.M. At lift off I noticed air carrier Y in formation on my left wing. We elected to maintain runway heading and advised tower of our intentions. Later on we heard air carrier Y call a missed approach. Tower advised it was climb to 3000' and then it would make a left turn. We climbed to 10000'.
