Narrative:
At approximately 14 NM northeast of ZZZ; flying VFR southwest at approximately 2;900 ft. MSL; a high-wing single engine cessna coming in opposite direction turned sharply to it's left and passed by within approximately 500 ft. Or less of my aircraft. I was tuning communication radios in preparation for landing at ZZZ and looked up to see him as he made the left turn to avoid my aircraft.

Title: C182 Pilot reported a near mid air collision while on approach; which caused the other aircraft to take evasive action.
