Narrative:
My student called me and reported to me that after touchdown on his landing the aircraft had veered off to the left side of the runway (west) at ZZZ. He told me that he rolled off the runway at 40 mph and came to a full stop about 100 ft. Off the runway. The staff of the flight school and I came out to the scene and saw that the student had turned the aircraft towards the runway. I followed the tracks back to the runway and saw that it was a shallow angle leading off the runway with some skid marks leading off the runway in a curving manner suggesting the aircraft was lined up on the centerline of the runway but somehow ended up veering off the runway. Luckily no one was hurt or runway closure.
