Narrative:

Upon landing after a series of takeoffs and landing, the nose wheel steering malfunctioned and the aircraft turned uncontrolled to the right and departed the paved runway. The aircraft was undamaged and 1 runway light was destroyed. The malfunction was attributed to turning the nose gear past its stop limits during towing. The steering worked during the first 30 mins of the flight.

Title: GA SMA RWY EXCURSION CAUSED BY NOSE GEAR MALFUNCTION.

Narrative: UPON LNDG AFTER A SERIES OF TKOFS AND LNDG, THE NOSE WHEEL STEERING MALFUNCTIONED AND THE ACFT TURNED UNCONTROLLED TO THE RIGHT AND DEPARTED THE PAVED RWY. THE ACFT WAS UNDAMAGED AND 1 RWY LIGHT WAS DESTROYED. THE MALFUNCTION WAS ATTRIBUTED TO TURNING THE NOSE GEAR PAST ITS STOP LIMITS DURING TOWING. THE STEERING WORKED DURING THE FIRST 30 MINS OF THE FLT.
