Narrative:
Landed runway 13 at pbi. After crossing runway 9L, I elected to turn off the runway at the first exit after the intersection of 13 and 9L, and was told by pbi tower to hold short of 9L. There is a very short distance from the turnoff of runway 13 to runway 9L, and when I saw the hold line for 9L, I had to stop rather quickly, as I was anticipating a longer distance to 9L before I had to stop. There is a lot of activity in the cockpit just after turning off the runway, with after landing check, radio frequency change, light switches, etc, and a runway stop line would have been very easy to miss, especially at night. Just after I stopped, an large transport roared past taking off on 9L. I think that is a hazardous intersection and that I should have been advised to continue to the end of 13 to turn off, or been warned of the short distance to the hold line.

Title: HARD STOP TO AVOID RWY INCURSION WHILE LGT TAKING OFF.
Narrative: LANDED RWY 13 AT PBI. AFTER XING RWY 9L, I ELECTED TO TURN OFF THE RWY AT THE FIRST EXIT AFTER THE INTXN OF 13 AND 9L, AND WAS TOLD BY PBI TWR TO HOLD SHORT OF 9L. THERE IS A VERY SHORT DISTANCE FROM THE TURNOFF OF RWY 13 TO RWY 9L, AND WHEN I SAW THE HOLD LINE FOR 9L, I HAD TO STOP RATHER QUICKLY, AS I WAS ANTICIPATING A LONGER DISTANCE TO 9L BEFORE I HAD TO STOP. THERE IS A LOT OF ACTIVITY IN THE COCKPIT JUST AFTER TURNING OFF THE RWY, WITH AFTER LNDG CHK, RADIO FREQ CHANGE, LIGHT SWITCHES, ETC, AND A RWY STOP LINE WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY EASY TO MISS, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. JUST AFTER I STOPPED, AN LGT ROARED PAST TAKING OFF ON 9L. I THINK THAT IS A HAZARDOUS INTXN AND THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO CONTINUE TO THE END OF 13 TO TURN OFF, OR BEEN WARNED OF THE SHORT DISTANCE TO THE HOLD LINE.
