Narrative:
Loss of electrical power (alternator; then eventually battery) while enroute from ZZZ to ZZZ1; while on flight following. Loss of power to GNS530w resulted in lost comms; squawked 7600 and continued VFR to a suitable repair facility (ZZZ3) and used a handheld radio to enter the ZZZ3 class D and land.mechanics determined an alternator terminal had become loose and the wires fatigued then broke at the terminal.
