Narrative:
This was a direct flight from brooksville, hernando county airport to savannah/beaufort, sc. I called st pete FSS for WX briefing. We departed bkv (my wife in right seat) and climbed to 2500' cruise. Contacted gnv regulation 25 mi south to advise I would be east of their airspace. Gnv tower replied air show in progress, contact ZJX. I contacted ZJX. ZJX. Had radar contact at 2500'. Said stay clear of gnv as air show in progress. Several mins later ZJX called to be alert for traffic from air show. By this time, we were approximately 15 mi ene of gnv when the engine failed. I contacted ZJX advised them of problem. ZJX advised we were cleared for landing at gnv. We were able to maintain partial power and made an uneventful landing at gnv with no damage to aircraft (assumed engine swallowed a valve leading to failure).
