Narrative:
Flying missed approach procedure which requires turn toward spa VOR on 001 degree right. I spoke to unicom during the missed approach turn to arrange pickup at gsp (alternate airport). When I called greer approach back, he informed me I was heading north instead of south on the correct radial. Turn and further climb was then initiated. I developed directional disorientation while communicating to people on the ground at unicom resulting in failure to complete the required procedure turn.
