Narrative:
Soon after a lightning strike and engine rollback with a successful relight procedure we were given a hold at holey. We were very close to the fix. The clearance only contained the 'as published' phrase. The hold has l-hand turns. The inbound course; leg distance and efc time were typed into the FMS. I failed to notice the direction of the turns. I had not called maintenance and dispatch about the engine quitting and I switched to the #2 communication to call commercial radio. The frequency was jammed up with all the holding aircraft. I heard my first officer read back 12000 ft and confirmed it was set in the preselector. I gave up on commercial radio after a couple of mins and switched back to communication #1. We had crossed the fix and the airplane turned right. About 90 degrees through the initial turn; ATC gave us a climb to 13000 ft and a vector then another vector. Then we were told we entered the hold the wrong way. The rest of the flight was normal to lga.
