Narrative:
During arrival into tampa international airport at 11000' MSL on the pie 132 degree/35 DME, tampa approach called out traffic at our 9 O'clock position climbing from 10000' to 12000'. The traffic was reported to have us in sight. The traffic continued climbing through our altitude on a converging course. We commenced an immediate descent to 10600' to insure vertical sep. As the traffic neared, we observed him initiate a climbing left turn and pass directly overhead at approximately 500'. We resumed cruise at 11000' and the remainder of the approach and landing at tampa were uneventful.

Narrative: DURING ARR INTO TAMPA INTL ARPT AT 11000' MSL ON THE PIE 132 DEG/35 DME, TAMPA APCH CALLED OUT TFC AT OUR 9 O'CLOCK POS CLBING FROM 10000' TO 12000'. THE TFC WAS RPTED TO HAVE US IN SIGHT. THE TFC CONTINUED CLBING THROUGH OUR ALT ON A CONVERGING COURSE. WE COMMENCED AN IMMEDIATE DSNT TO 10600' TO INSURE VERT SEP. AS THE TFC NEARED, WE OBSERVED HIM INITIATE A CLBING L TURN AND PASS DIRECTLY OVERHEAD AT APPROX 500'. WE RESUMED CRUISE AT 11000' AND THE REMAINDER OF THE APCH AND LNDG AT TAMPA WERE UNEVENTFUL.
