Narrative:
Declared emergency because of engine failure at FL260. Center did not want me to descend because of traffic at about 1-2 O'clock, 3 or so mi. Took several times to get center to give a lower altitude. We started down using emergency authority. Then with some reluctance, center said we could descend. Normal single engine landing made a tlh. No problems.

Title: FLT CREW ALLEGEDLY DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WHEN ENGINE HAD TO BE REDUCED TO IDLE THRUST. ARTCC CTLR UNABLE TO GIVE IMMEDIATE DESCENT CLRNC. ADVISED FLT CREW TO DECLARE EMERGENCY AND MAKE DESCENT.
Narrative: DECLARED EMER BECAUSE OF ENG FAILURE AT FL260. CENTER DID NOT WANT ME TO DSND BECAUSE OF TFC AT ABOUT 1-2 O'CLOCK, 3 OR SO MI. TOOK SEVERAL TIMES TO GET CENTER TO GIVE A LOWER ALT. WE STARTED DOWN USING EMER AUTHORITY. THEN WITH SOME RELUCTANCE, CENTER SAID WE COULD DSND. NORMAL SINGLE ENG LNDG MADE A TLH. NO PROBS.
