Narrative:
Air carrier X changed to ZHU frequency 128.1. That is also houston clearance delivery frequency (iah cpt). The iah cpt was so much stronger than the center that communications were almost impossible! No alternate frequency was available! We had been deviating around thunderstorms, but fortunately were on a safe heading at the time. We flew out at the interference in 5 mins. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: the reporter stated he reported the frequency overlap problem to ZHU. The reporter has not flown route again, so he does not know if the problem is ongoing. Callback conversation with iah ATCT revealed the following: planning and procedures office has not heard of a frequency overlap with the center. Callback conversation with ZHU revealed the following: the specialist in chart of frequency problems had not had the frequency overlap with iah ATCT reported to his office. The specialist stated frequency 128.1 has been changed.

Narrative: ACR X CHANGED TO ZHU FREQ 128.1. THAT IS ALSO HOUSTON CLRNC DELIVERY FREQ (IAH CPT). THE IAH CPT WAS SO MUCH STRONGER THAN THE CENTER THAT COMS WERE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE! NO ALTERNATE FREQ WAS AVAILABLE! WE HAD BEEN DEVIATING AROUND TSTMS, BUT FORTUNATELY WERE ON A SAFE HDG AT THE TIME. WE FLEW OUT AT THE INTERFERENCE IN 5 MINS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: THE RPTR STATED HE RPTED THE FREQ OVERLAP PROB TO ZHU. THE RPTR HAS NOT FLOWN RTE AGAIN, SO HE DOES NOT KNOW IF THE PROB IS ONGOING. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH IAH ATCT REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: PLANNING AND PROCS OFFICE HAS NOT HEARD OF A FREQ OVERLAP WITH THE CENTER.
