Narrative:
I was proceeding westbound to dupage airport at 10500' MSL. The flight conditions were VFR and the flight path took me directly over ord TCA and 2 mi south of ord. At 15 mi east of dupage VOR, I started a descent to 8500' MSL. I crossed the dupage VOR at 7900', heading due west. I then proceeded (still VFR and clear of ord TCA) to the dupage airport. All this time I was unaware that the ord TCA had extended its upper limit to 1000' earlier in may. After talking with a friend about the way I returned to dupage did I discover that maybe the TCA had changed. He did not know for sure. When I called FSS for a WX briefing and NOTAMS at the beginning of the flight, there was no mention of the TCA changes. Nor was I informed of this change this past month when I called FSS or from our nos charts, VFR or IFR. When I called FSS upon hearing that there might have been a change, they had no knowledge of said changes. Had I known of the change, I would not have descended until well clear of the TCA, and would have made every effort to comply with the new airspace. I did not conflict with any traffic. I was monitoring approach and departure off of ord, and stayed clear of all arrival and departure corridors. Note: to the best of my knowledge, no phone calls from ord or letters were received regarding this matter.

Title: NEW UPPER LIMIT OF ORD TCA RAISED TO 10000'. PLT OF SMT FREIGHTER DESCENDED INTO DUPAGE ENTERING OUTER RING OF ORD TCA. PLT UNAWARE OF CHANGE.
Narrative: I WAS PROCEEDING WBND TO DUPAGE ARPT AT 10500' MSL. THE FLT CONDITIONS WERE VFR AND THE FLT PATH TOOK ME DIRECTLY OVER ORD TCA AND 2 MI S OF ORD. AT 15 MI E OF DUPAGE VOR, I STARTED A DSNT TO 8500' MSL. I CROSSED THE DUPAGE VOR AT 7900', HDG DUE W. I THEN PROCEEDED (STILL VFR AND CLR OF ORD TCA) TO THE DUPAGE ARPT. WHEN I CALLED FSS UPON HEARING THAT THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN A CHANGE, THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF SAID CHANGES. HAD I KNOWN OF THE CHANGE, I WOULD NOT HAVE DSNDED UNTIL WELL CLR OF THE TCA, AND WOULD HAVE MADE EVERY EFFORT TO COMPLY WITH THE NEW AIRSPACE. I DID NOT CONFLICT WITH ANY TFC. I WAS MONITORING APCH AND DEP OFF OF ORD, AND STAYED CLR OF ALL ARR AND DEP CORRIDORS. NOTE: TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, NO PHONE CALLS FROM ORD OR LETTERS WERE RECEIVED REGARDING THIS MATTER.
