Narrative:

We proceeded to land at 4b0. I entered a downwind for runway 21 and announced to traffic on 122.7. I extended the landing gear and dropped flaps. The winds reversed on final from the wsw to the ese and back again. Using crosswind correction (right aileron and left rudder), I approaching the displaced threshold. I checked for the third time (downwind, base and final) gump--gas-full tank, undercarriage-down and locked, mixture-full rich, propeller-full forward, flaps-full down. Upon entering ground effect, the crosswind correction was removed. We bounced once and immediately came down on the main gear. I put the nose down and proceeded to break (21 is downhill and the strip is 2200' long). Almost simultaneously the left wing sagged and the aircraft shifted. Realizing a problem had developed, I confirmed the manifold was full back, pulled the mixture off and propeller full back. Steering became difficult and the drag from the left side pulled us off the runway to the left as I shut the fuel switch to the off position and snapped the alternator and battery switches off. The aircraft stopped and my sons and I left the aircraft rapidly. Afterward, when in trying to stabilize the landing gear, in order to tow the aircraft the nose gear was inadvertently collapsed causing damage to the nose area of the aircraft.

Title: UPON LNDG IN CROSS AND SWIRLY WINDS, LEFT GEAR COLLAPSED DRAWING ACFT OFF RWY. DURING POSTFLT RECOVERY OF ACFT NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED.

Narrative: WE PROCEEDED TO LAND AT 4B0. I ENTERED A DOWNWIND FOR RWY 21 AND ANNOUNCED TO TFC ON 122.7. I EXTENDED THE LNDG GEAR AND DROPPED FLAPS. THE WINDS REVERSED ON FINAL FROM THE WSW TO THE ESE AND BACK AGAIN. USING XWIND CORRECTION (RIGHT AILERON AND LEFT RUDDER), I APCHING THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD. I CHKED FOR THE THIRD TIME (DOWNWIND, BASE AND FINAL) GUMP--GAS-FULL TANK, UNDERCARRIAGE-DOWN AND LOCKED, MIXTURE-FULL RICH, PROP-FULL FORWARD, FLAPS-FULL DOWN. UPON ENTERING GND EFFECT, THE XWIND CORRECTION WAS REMOVED. WE BOUNCED ONCE AND IMMEDIATELY CAME DOWN ON THE MAIN GEAR. I PUT THE NOSE DOWN AND PROCEEDED TO BREAK (21 IS DOWNHILL AND THE STRIP IS 2200' LONG). ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY THE LEFT WING SAGGED AND THE ACFT SHIFTED. REALIZING A PROB HAD DEVELOPED, I CONFIRMED THE MANIFOLD WAS FULL BACK, PULLED THE MIXTURE OFF AND PROP FULL BACK. STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT AND THE DRAG FROM THE LEFT SIDE PULLED US OFF THE RWY TO THE LEFT AS I SHUT THE FUEL SWITCH TO THE OFF POS AND SNAPPED THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY SWITCHES OFF. THE ACFT STOPPED AND MY SONS AND I LEFT THE ACFT RAPIDLY. AFTERWARD, WHEN IN TRYING TO STABILIZE THE LNDG GEAR, IN ORDER TO TOW THE ACFT THE NOSE GEAR WAS INADVERTENTLY COLLAPSED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE NOSE AREA OF THE ACFT.
