Narrative:
We were level at FL290 over texico VOR. Received a TA on TCAS with a conflicting aircraft at 900' below and climbing. Received an RA to climb. TCAS commanded a 2000 FPM climb. Since traffic was not seen visually, followed TCAS instructions and initiated climb. At FL298, TCAS reported us clear of traffic. Simultaneously we visually acquired traffic below us and returned to FL290. ATC advised us that no conflict existed. Opp direction traffic appeared level below us.
