Narrative:
On approach in atl, being vectored by ATC, heading 180 degrees, altitude 6000'. First officer tuned and idented ILS for 26R on #1 navigation. When he reached back to turn vol down, he turned #1 communication down by mistake. It was caught before going too far, but not until after we had missed several calls.

Narrative: ON APCH IN ATL, BEING VECTORED BY ATC, HDG 180 DEGS, ALT 6000'. F/O TUNED AND IDENTED ILS FOR 26R ON #1 NAV. WHEN HE REACHED BACK TO TURN VOL DOWN, HE TURNED #1 COM DOWN BY MISTAKE. IT WAS CAUGHT BEFORE GOING TOO FAR, BUT NOT UNTIL AFTER WE HAD MISSED SEVERAL CALLS.
