Narrative:
When beginning the climb from FL310 to FL350, a loud bang was heard and a jolt was felt in the air frame. The #1 EPR and N1 RPM fell off. The engine was shut down according to SOP and the flight was diverted to slc.

Narrative: WHEN BEGINNING THE CLB FROM FL310 TO FL350, A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD AND A JOLT WAS FELT IN THE AIR FRAME. THE #1 EPR AND N1 RPM FELL OFF. THE ENG WAS SHUT DOWN ACCORDING TO SOP AND THE FLT WAS DIVERTED TO SLC.
