Narrative:
I flew flight from eri to pit. I had fuel of approximately 10000#, approximately 3000# to pit, 1800 to alternate (cak) and 4000 reserve = 8800#. Left approximately 1200 pounds for holding. Went to pit and asked by ATC to slow to 170 KTS, 30 KTS below clean speed. Had to use slats and flaps. With only 1000-1200 pounds to play with. Asked sequence and told we were #19 for approach. Told controller we had 15-20 mins to deal with before we had to go to alternate for fuel. Controller gave us priority handling and we became #4 for landing. We tried to communicate a minimum fuel advisor to let approach know that after 15-20 mins were up, we wouldn't land at pit, and we would have to proceed to the alternate. When we landed at pit, we had approximately 6200 pounds of fuel left (reserve plus alternate plus 400#). I didn't want to wait too long before approach knew we might have to go to our alternate. We appreciated the priority handling (which we did not ask for). I called supervisor and he didn't seem really happy with what I did. I told him I would rather tell someone why I did do something instead of telling why I didn't do something.

Title: ACR MLG FLT CREW DECLARES A FUEL CONCERN AT PIT.
Narrative: I FLEW FLT FROM ERI TO PIT. I HAD FUEL OF APPROX 10000#, APPROX 3000# TO PIT, 1800 TO ALTERNATE (CAK) AND 4000 RESERVE = 8800#. LEFT APPROX 1200 LBS FOR HOLDING. WENT TO PIT AND ASKED BY ATC TO SLOW TO 170 KTS, 30 KTS BELOW CLEAN SPD. HAD TO USE SLATS AND FLAPS. WITH ONLY 1000-1200 LBS TO PLAY WITH. ASKED SEQUENCE AND TOLD WE WERE #19 FOR APCH. TOLD CTLR WE HAD 15-20 MINS TO DEAL WITH BEFORE WE HAD TO GO TO ALTERNATE FOR FUEL. CTLR GAVE US PRIORITY HANDLING AND WE BECAME #4 FOR LNDG. WE TRIED TO COMMUNICATE A MINIMUM FUEL ADVISOR TO LET APCH KNOW THAT AFTER 15-20 MINS WERE UP, WE WOULDN'T LAND AT PIT, AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PROCEED TO THE ALTERNATE. WHEN WE LANDED AT PIT, WE HAD APPROX 6200 LBS OF FUEL LEFT (RESERVE PLUS ALTERNATE PLUS 400#). I DIDN'T WANT TO WAIT TOO LONG BEFORE APCH KNEW WE MIGHT HAVE TO GO TO OUR ALTERNATE. WE APPRECIATED THE PRIORITY HANDLING (WHICH WE DID NOT ASK FOR). I CALLED SUPVR AND HE DIDN'T SEEM REALLY HAPPY WITH WHAT I DID. I TOLD HIM I WOULD RATHER TELL SOMEONE WHY I DID DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF TELLING WHY I DIDN'T DO SOMETHING.
