Narrative:

On takeoff out of sea, flying the mountain 2 departure. 'Cross sea 8 DME fix at or above 4000', then turn right to a 070 degree heading.' I was concerned with getting above 4000', and turned after reaching 4000'. Should have read the departure more thoroughly. I turned approximately 30-4 mi early. TCAS was giving us an alert at this time on a non altitude transponder aircraft. Probable reason: copilot did not catch error.
