Narrative:
VFR flight into fai from the northwest. The active runway was 19 and approach control for us to enter right base 19R. Later they asked if we could take 19L. We replied we could and were handed off to tower who cleared us to land on 19R, and to follow an small aircraft on a straight in approach. We asked, 'confirm 19R,' and were told that was correct. The controller also had medium large transport jet landing on 1L. The conflict became aware to us when we observed the opp direction jet on short final as we were touching down. We expedited our taxi and turned clear after the main gear of the opp direction jet touched down. The controller in his effort to please the jet request for opp direction traffic compromised the safety of both aircraft. Had we had any type of malfunction that would have prevented us from a fast exit off the runway, the possibility of a collision would have been likely. Bottom line: safety first, and then the desires of the opp direction traffic!

Title: OPPOSITE DIRECTION JET MLG TRAFFIC TOUCHED DOWN RWY 1-19 AT FAI AS SMT TWIN LEFT RWY.
Narrative: VFR FLT INTO FAI FROM THE NW. THE ACTIVE RWY WAS 19 AND APCH CTL FOR US TO ENTER RIGHT BASE 19R. LATER THEY ASKED IF WE COULD TAKE 19L. WE REPLIED WE COULD AND WERE HANDED OFF TO TWR WHO CLRED US TO LAND ON 19R, AND TO FOLLOW AN SMA ON A STRAIGHT IN APCH. WE ASKED, 'CONFIRM 19R,' AND WERE TOLD THAT WAS CORRECT. THE CTLR ALSO HAD MLG JET LNDG ON 1L. THE CONFLICT BECAME AWARE TO US WHEN WE OBSERVED THE OPP DIRECTION JET ON SHORT FINAL AS WE WERE TOUCHING DOWN. WE EXPEDITED OUR TAXI AND TURNED CLR AFTER THE MAIN GEAR OF THE OPP DIRECTION JET TOUCHED DOWN. THE CTLR IN HIS EFFORT TO PLEASE THE JET REQUEST FOR OPP DIRECTION TFC COMPROMISED THE SAFETY OF BOTH ACFT. HAD WE HAD ANY TYPE OF MALFUNCTION THAT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED US FROM A FAST EXIT OFF THE RWY, THE POSSIBILITY OF A COLLISION WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKELY. BOTTOM LINE: SAFETY FIRST, AND THEN THE DESIRES OF THE OPP DIRECTION TFC!
