Narrative:
Reporter flying northbound on V87 approximately at rumsey intersection in VFR conditions at 6500' MSL. Observed another aircraft about 1000' above at 2 O'clock position and flying in a northwest direction. Other aircraft suddenly made a steep left diving turn and appeared to be heading directly at reporter's aircraft. Reporter made a right turn to avoid a conflict and the other aircraft passed about 200' to the left and slightly below. Other aircraft then started a climb but was not seen again. Other aircraft was an small aircraft Y, white with blue trim, and not equipped with wheel pants. No other details or number of aircraft observed. Reporter continued to destination (redding) west/O further incident.

Title: CLOSE PROX TWO GA SMA ACFT ON V87 25 S OF MXW VOR.
Narrative: RPTR FLYING NBND ON V87 APPROX AT RUMSEY INTXN IN VFR CONDITIONS AT 6500' MSL. OBSERVED ANOTHER ACFT ABOUT 1000' ABOVE AT 2 O'CLOCK POS AND FLYING IN A NW DIRECTION. OTHER ACFT SUDDENLY MADE A STEEP L DIVING TURN AND APPEARED TO BE HDG DIRECTLY AT RPTR'S ACFT. RPTR MADE A R TURN TO AVOID A CONFLICT AND THE OTHER ACFT PASSED ABOUT 200' TO THE L AND SLIGHTLY BELOW. OTHER ACFT THEN STARTED A CLB BUT WAS NOT SEEN AGAIN. OTHER ACFT WAS AN SMA Y, WHITE WITH BLUE TRIM, AND NOT EQUIPPED WITH WHEEL PANTS. NO OTHER DETAILS OR NUMBER OF ACFT OBSERVED. RPTR CONTINUED TO DEST (REDDING) W/O FURTHER INCIDENT.
