Narrative:
We were cruising along, late at night and the ATIS at our destination was already off the air since the tower was closed. We were about 60 NM from our destination. Soon we were to begin our descent and center did not seem to be busy (127.30). There were not many aircraft on the frequency. We asked ft worth center if he could give us the latest WX report for our destination fsm. Center mumbled a response but no WX report followed! +/- 5 min later my first officer asked again for a WX report for fsm. Again center did not give us the WX report. He said he did not have it. I asked him if he could get it for us please, since we can not land west/O it and the tower was closed. He mumbled again! Another 5 min went by and he handed us over to memphis center. I asked him: 'are you going to give us the fsm WX or not?' 'I guess not' he answered. Center loud and clear refused to provide us current WX! We got the report from memphis center and landed safely. We could not believe our ears.
