Narrative:

Baton rouge tower cleared our flight for takeoff on runway 22R. While taxiing into position, first officer requested 1 in on the runway to check WX for the departure and set power for a static takeoff. Tower controller did not immediately respond due to his attention being directed at giving IFR clearance to another aircraft on another frequency. After commencing takeoff roll tower responded, 'that's approved...takeoff clearance cancelled.' we informed him that we were already on the takeoff roll and he acknowledged. We believe that a controller's responsibility for more than 1 radio frequency caused a breakdown in the timely flow of communication.

Title: ACR MLG STARTED TKOF ROLL AFTER A 1 MINUTE HOLD ON THE RWY WITHOUT RECONFIRMING TKOF CLRNC.

Narrative: BATON ROUGE TWR CLRED OUR FLT FOR TKOF ON RWY 22R. WHILE TAXIING INTO POS, F/O REQUESTED 1 IN ON THE RWY TO CHK WX FOR THE DEP AND SET PWR FOR A STATIC TKOF. TWR CTLR DID NOT IMMEDIATELY RESPOND DUE TO HIS ATTN BEING DIRECTED AT GIVING IFR CLRNC TO ANOTHER ACFT ON ANOTHER FREQ. AFTER COMMENCING TKOF ROLL TWR RESPONDED, 'THAT'S APPROVED...TKOF CLRNC CANCELLED.' WE INFORMED HIM THAT WE WERE ALREADY ON THE TKOF ROLL AND HE ACKNOWLEDGED. WE BELIEVE THAT A CTLR'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR MORE THAN 1 RADIO FREQ CAUSED A BREAKDOWN IN THE TIMELY FLOW OF COM.
