I thought we were cleared into position on 12L only. The tower asked why we were not moving and instructed another aircraft to go around. The tower asked if we did not receive his original takeoff clearance. We responded in the negative. I am still unsure whether he gave a position and hold or takeoff clearance. The copilot was also unsure.

Narrative: I THOUGHT WE WERE CLRED INTO POS ON 12L ONLY. THE TWR ASKED WHY WE WERE NOT MOVING AND INSTRUCTED ANOTHER ACFT TO GO AROUND. THE TWR ASKED IF WE DID NOT RECEIVE HIS ORIGINAL TKOF CLRNC. WE RESPONDED IN THE NEGATIVE. I AM STILL UNSURE WHETHER HE GAVE A POS AND HOLD OR TKOF CLRNC. THE COPLT WAS ALSO UNSURE.
