Narrative:
On departure from ord, with an assigned altitude of 5000 ft, I climbed to 5300 ft before returning to 5000 ft. The departure entailed a climbing 130 degree turn during which I neglected to reset my altimeter from the QFE setting due to the attention required of the departure turn and thus missed the level off altitude. The altitude alert sounded at 5250 ft and an immediate correction was initiated.
