Narrative:
Climbing en route to FL230 a loud bang was encountered. I noted a crack in pilot's side window. I asked for a lower altitude which was granted by center. I received a clearance to return to airport of departure. Landing was made with no further problems.

Narrative: CLBING ENRTE TO FL230 A LOUD BANG WAS ENCOUNTERED. I NOTED A CRACK IN PLT'S SIDE WINDOW. I ASKED FOR A LOWER ALT WHICH WAS GRANTED BY CENTER. I RECEIVED A CLRNC TO RETURN TO ARPT OF DEP. LNDG WAS MADE WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS.
