Narrative:

I was doing a stage check (evaluation) of a student pilot in traffic pattern operations. Student turned onto final and proceeded to line up with taxiway. Tower informed pilot that they thought he was going to land on taxiway. Student missed call. I did not do anything hoping the student would realized his mistake. Just before I was going to break it off, tower informed us to go around. My mistake was that I should not have let it go as long as I did but I wanted to give student benefit of the doubt.
