Narrative:

After departing sfo to rdm, we noticed smoke in the cockpit. We isolated the problem, cleared the smoke, and returned to the airport. The only unusual situation prior to departure was an extra long taxi, 55 mins, due to congestion, and lax flow times that cut in ahead of us. Other than the long taxi, everything else seemed to be normal, until we had the smoke problem with the airplane. We asked for priority handling back to sfo because we were able to clear the smoke from the airplane. We returned with priority vectors with a visual approach to a landing.

Title: COMMUTER HAS SMOKE IN COCKPIT ON INITIAL CLB.

Narrative: AFTER DEPARTING SFO TO RDM, WE NOTICED SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT. WE ISOLATED THE PROBLEM, CLRED THE SMOKE, AND RETURNED TO THE ARPT. THE ONLY UNUSUAL SITUATION PRIOR TO DEP WAS AN EXTRA LONG TAXI, 55 MINS, DUE TO CONGESTION, AND LAX FLOW TIMES THAT CUT IN AHEAD OF US. OTHER THAN THE LONG TAXI, EVERYTHING ELSE SEEMED TO BE NORMAL, UNTIL WE HAD THE SMOKE PROBLEM WITH THE AIRPLANE. WE ASKED FOR PRIORITY HANDLING BACK TO SFO BECAUSE WE WERE ABLE TO CLR THE SMOKE FROM THE AIRPLANE. WE RETURNED WITH PRIORITY VECTORS WITH A VISUAL APCH TO A LNDG.
