Narrative:

Heading towards N54 for a lesson of full stop lndgs with a student. We entered a right midfield downwind for runway 24 at N54. All pattern legs were broadcast on unicom and landing was made on runway 24. On roll out I noticed the wind sock was indicating winds light and variable and starting to favor runway 6. We taxied to the departure end of runway 6 and did our takeoff checklist in the designated run up area. At this time I noticed a single engine small aircraft aircraft taxi out and back taxi to the same run up area we were in. When the small aircraft was behind the hold short line we announced our departure and took off runway 6. On left downwind runway 6 I observed the small aircraft leave the run up area for 6 and back taxi for the run up area runway 24. Not wanting to cause a conflict and with the winds left/V we exited the pattern for a reentry midfield downwind runway 24. We called reentry, base and final with the small aircraft still in the run up area. After touchdown we rolled out to the run up area runway 6 so the small aircraft could depart runway 24. While doing our pretkof checklist I noticed the small aircraft rolling down runway 24 at a high rate of speed but not fast enough to rotate. They passed the turn off for the FBO and proceeded at this same high rate of speed taxi for our run up area. The small aircraft recklessly aimed at our aircraft perpendicularly and came to a dangerously close, engine off, stop. The left door opened and a woman deplaned and approached our aircraft. She came up to the right side of our aircraft and started banging on the doors window with our engine still running. We motioned to her to the left side where I was sitting. When I opened my door she yelled, 'shut your god damn aircraft down and show me your license.' I have a 15 hour, 17 yr old private pilot student listening to her yelling profanity. I asked to see her credentials and she retorted as to who was I to ask her such a question. This woman was physically standing on our acfts fiberglass wheel pants and when asked to please get off she would reply she could do whatever she liked since she owned the airport. Again she ordered me to shut the engine down and I once again said no, until she showed me her credentials. Next she reached into our aircraft grabbing the keys for the magnetos. I intercepted her hand and told her to keep out of our aircraft. She then ordered me to follow her back to the FBO. She taxied her small aircraft down and off runway 6. When behind the hold short I announced my takeoff and departed runway 6 towards tnn. Upon landing airport security stopped my car as I exited the parking area. Mins later state police arrived and took me to headquarters. They questioned me for over an hour. No arrest was made and I had to fill out a report for the middletown, PA, police. I feel the treatment my student and I encountered was unfair and uncalled for. I tried to talk to this woman in a civilized and professional manner but she became more irate especially how could and why would anyone ever ask to see her credentials. I would liked to have cleared this matter up but since she could not do it in a civilized manner and showed no proof of identity and I having other engagements I departed N54. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information. Reporter states he received a call from FAA who wanted to know what had happened. Reporter explained as in his report. The 'lady' claimed she had incurred bodily injury. Reporter has heard nothing further.

Title: INSTR WITH SPI ENCOUNTERS HOSTILE INDIVIDUAL AT NON TWR ARPT.

Narrative: HEADING TOWARDS N54 FOR A LESSON OF FULL STOP LNDGS WITH A STUDENT. WE ENTERED A R MIDFIELD DOWNWIND FOR RWY 24 AT N54. WE TAXIED TO THE DEP END OF RWY 6 AND DID OUR TKOF CHKLIST IN THE DESIGNATED RUN UP AREA. AT THIS TIME I NOTICED A SINGLE ENG SMA ACFT TAXI OUT AND BACK TAXI TO THE SAME RUN UP AREA WE WERE IN. WHEN THE SMA WAS BEHIND THE HOLD SHORT LINE WE ANNOUNCED OUR DEP AND TOOK OFF RWY 6. ON L DOWNWIND RWY 6 I OBSERVED THE SMA LEAVE THE RUN UP AREA FOR 6 AND BACK TAXI FOR THE RUN UP AREA RWY 24. NOT WANTING TO CAUSE A CONFLICT AND WITH THE WINDS L/V WE EXITED THE PATTERN FOR A REENTRY MIDFIELD DOWNWIND RWY 24. WE CALLED REENTRY, BASE AND FINAL WITH THE SMA STILL IN THE RUN UP AREA. AFTER TOUCHDOWN WE ROLLED OUT TO THE RUN UP AREA RWY 6 SO THE SMA COULD DEPART RWY 24. THE SMA RECKLESSLY AIMED AT OUR ACFT PERPENDICULARLY AND CAME TO A DANGEROUSLY CLOSE, ENG OFF, STOP. THE L DOOR OPENED AND A WOMAN DEPLANED AND APCHED OUR ACFT. SHE CAME UP TO THE R SIDE OF OUR ACFT AND STARTED BANGING ON THE DOORS WINDOW WITH OUR ENG STILL RUNNING. WE MOTIONED TO HER TO THE L SIDE WHERE I WAS SITTING. WHEN I OPENED MY DOOR SHE YELLED, 'SHUT YOUR GOD DAMN ACFT DOWN AND SHOW ME YOUR LICENSE.' I HAVE A 15 HR, 17 YR OLD PRIVATE PLT STUDENT LISTENING TO HER YELLING PROFANITY. I ASKED TO SEE HER CREDENTIALS AND SHE RETORTED AS TO WHO WAS I TO ASK HER SUCH A QUESTION. AGAIN SHE ORDERED ME TO SHUT THE ENG DOWN AND I ONCE AGAIN SAID NO, UNTIL SHE SHOWED ME HER CREDENTIALS. NEXT SHE REACHED INTO OUR ACFT GRABBING THE KEYS FOR THE MAGNETOS. MINS LATER STATE POLICE ARRIVED AND TOOK ME TO HEADQUARTERS. THEY QUESTIONED ME FOR OVER AN HR. NO ARREST WAS MADE AND I HAD TO FILL OUT A RPT FOR THE MIDDLETOWN, PA, POLICE. I FEEL THE TREATMENT MY STUDENT AND I ENCOUNTERED WAS UNFAIR AND UNCALLED FOR. I TRIED TO TALK TO THIS WOMAN IN A CIVILIZED AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER BUT SHE BECAME MORE IRATE ESPECIALLY HOW COULD AND WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER ASK TO SEE HER CREDENTIALS. I WOULD LIKED TO HAVE CLRED THIS MATTER UP BUT SINCE SHE COULD NOT DO IT IN A CIVILIZED MANNER AND SHOWED NO PROOF OF IDENTITY AND I HAVING OTHER ENGAGEMENTS I DEPARTED N54. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO. RPTR STATES HE RECEIVED A CALL FROM FAA WHO WANTED TO KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED. RPTR EXPLAINED AS IN HIS RPT. THE 'LADY' CLAIMED SHE HAD INCURRED BODILY INJURY. RPTR HAS HEARD NOTHING FURTHER.
