Narrative:
On a training flight doing touch and goes at phoenix deer valley airport, the aircraft did leave the departure end of the runway after an aborted takeoff. During a flaps 30 degree touch and go the student started his flare at about 50 ft above the runway and let the airspeed bleed off to approximately 65 KTS. The student was not maintaining directional control of the aircraft and the ip had the student stop the descent and fly over the runway at about 10 ft. The ip requested the student to slowly come down to the runway at which time the student closed the throttle and the aircraft bounced on the runway. The aircraft became airborne from the bounce and as the ip took control to go around, the engine hesitated. Rather than continue, the ip stopped the takeoff. The ip landed the aircraft, but due to the confign, hard braking did little good. The ip seeing runway usable gone, released the brakes and let the aircraft roll off the runway. No injuries, no damage to airport, no damage to aircraft. Engine ran ok on subsequent flight by mechanics.

Title: PLT TRAINEE HAD DIFFICULTY FINDING THE GND. IP RECOVERED THE ACFT BUT LATE. ACFT RAN OFF END OF RWY.
Narrative: ON A TRAINING FLT DOING TOUCH AND GOES AT PHOENIX DEER VALLEY ARPT, THE ACFT DID LEAVE THE DEP END OF THE RWY AFTER AN ABORTED TKOF. DURING A FLAPS 30 DEG TOUCH AND GO THE STUDENT STARTED HIS FLARE AT ABOUT 50 FT ABOVE THE RWY AND LET THE AIRSPD BLEED OFF TO APPROX 65 KTS. THE STUDENT WAS NOT MAINTAINING DIRECTIONAL CTL OF THE ACFT AND THE IP HAD THE STUDENT STOP THE DSCNT AND FLY OVER THE RWY AT ABOUT 10 FT. THE IP REQUESTED THE STUDENT TO SLOWLY COME DOWN TO THE RWY AT WHICH TIME THE STUDENT CLOSED THE THROTTLE AND THE ACFT BOUNCED ON THE RWY. THE ACFT BECAME AIRBORNE FROM THE BOUNCE AND AS THE IP TOOK CTL TO GAR, THE ENG HESITATED. RATHER THAN CONTINUE, THE IP STOPPED THE TKOF. THE IP LANDED THE ACFT, BUT DUE TO THE CONFIGN, HARD BRAKING DID LITTLE GOOD. THE IP SEEING RWY USABLE GONE, RELEASED THE BRAKES AND LET THE ACFT ROLL OFF THE RWY. NO INJURIES, NO DAMAGE TO ARPT, NO DAMAGE TO ACFT. ENG RAN OK ON SUBSEQUENT FLT BY MECHS.
